Las Vegas Raiders QB Kirk Cousins has now been officially signed by Las Vegas on Monday, April 6.
Huddle Up: After going 12-10 as a starter for the Falcons in his two seasons in Atlanta, Cousins linked up with the Las Vegas Raiders as a possible bridge to presumptive new quarterback Fernando Mendoza. In those two seasons, Cousins threw 28 touchdown passes to a whopping 21 interceptions. For fantasy purposes, Cousins is a situational start when he does get into a game. Even then, you'll likely have better options than throwing Cousins into your starting lineup.

Las Vegas Raiders QB Kirk Cousins "likely will be starting games" in 2026, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Huddle Up: The Raiders are expected to select Fernando Mendoza with the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and while the rookie could end up under center in Week 1, it sounds like the Raiders could opt to bring Mendoza along slowly. If Cousins does open the year as the starter, he could be a midrange QB2 until Mendoza inevitably takes over.

Updating an earlier report, Las Vegas Raiders QB Kirk Cousins will land a five-year, $172 million deal with the Raiders that in reality is a one-year, fully guaranteed $20 million deal that also contains a club option for two years at $80 million. The Falcons owe him $8.7 million this season and the Raiders will pay $1.3 million. Las Vegas also agreed to pay him a fully guaranteed $10 million roster bonus on the third day of the 2027 new league year.
Huddle Up: The Raiders are expected to take Fernando Mendoza at No. 1 overall, and he could be ready to start Week 1. Cousins would present a fallback option that likely doesn't move the needle much in fantasy. At best, he's a midrange QB2 option for the first month of the season.

Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. (knee) will not be rushed back, and he won't rush his recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski.
Huddle Up: You can probably plan on Tua Tagovailoa starting at least the first few weeks with Penix a possibility around Week 5 or 6. Either way, neither QB possesses a ton of fantasy value and are midrange QB2s.

Arizona Cardinals RB Tyler Allgeier said he thinks he is a good fit for Arizona's outside zone scheme, but the team has not discussed how carries will be divided.
Huddle Up: Allgeier will join James Conner and Trey Benson in the backfield, but both Conner and Benson are coming off injuries. Allgeier showed promise during his time as Bijan Robinson's backup in Atlanta, so he knows how to be productive while working in a committee. That being said, it will likely take Conner missing time for Allgeier to have a featured role.

Updating a previous report, Arizona Cardinals TE Teagan Quitoriano signed a one-year, $1.24 million contract, which will count $1.1 million against Arizona's salary cap in 2026.
Huddle Up: As strictly a blocking tight end, Quitoriano hasn't logged a single target in two seasons, much less a reception. With just nine receptions in 40 total NFL games across four seasons, you can safely leave Quitoriano undrafted in 2026.

Free-agent WR Darnell Mooney (Falcons) agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the New York Giants Saturday, March 14, worth as much as $10 million, according to sources.
Huddle Up: Mooney struggled with injuries last season but has played well in the past and will have a good chance to earn a starting role with the Giants. He can be considered a No. 4 or No. 5 receiver in most fantasy leagues but is unlikely to be a weekly starting option.

Free-agent RB Tyler Allgeier (Falcons) officially signed with the Arizona Cardinals Thursday, March 12.
Huddle Up: Allgeier joins a backfield with James Conner and Trey Benson, but given the injury history of both incumbents, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Allgeier lead the Arizona ground attack in 2026. If he secures the lead role, a RB2 finish could be on tap for Allgeier.

Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins has reportedly been released by the Falcons, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN on Wednesday, March 11.
Huddle Up: After going 12-10 as a starter for the Falcons in his two seasons in Atlanta, Cousins, having been released by the team, is now on the open market. In those two seasons, Cousins threw 28 touchdown passes to a whopping 21 interceptions. It remains to be seen whether Cousins will be a full-time starter in the NFL again, but he makes sense as a battle-tested backup quarterback or bridge starter for an ascending franchise. For fantasy purposes, that makes Cousins a situational start when he does get into a game. Even then, you'll likely have better options than throwing Cousins into your starting lineup.

Impending free-agent RB Tyler Allgeier (Falcons) has reportedly agreed to terms with the Arizona Cardinals on a two-year, $12.25 million deal, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network on Monday, March 9.
Huddle Up: Allgeier has been one of the better backup running backs in the NFL over his four seasons, and he saw a heavy volume of carries in his rookie season, notching 1,035 yards with the Falcons in 2022. However, his carries and opportunities have lessened with the arrival of Bijan Robinson in the Falcons' backfield. Allgeier now links up with the Arizona Cardinals, where he'll vie for a starting opportunity. For fantasy football, opportunity is king for running backs, and Allgeier has shown glimpses of efficiency and touchdown-scoring ability. Allgeier's fantasy value is still a bit up in the air, but he should be ahead of the pack in Arizona as a mid-range RB2 with upside.

Atlanta Falcons WR Darnell Mooney will be released when the new league year begins. He was set to count $18.4 million against the cap.
Huddle Up: Mooney had 72 targets and caught just 32 of them for 443 yards and a TD. He could have situational value elsewhere, but he's not likely to be targeted as more than a WR5.

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray and Las Vegas Raiders QB Geno Smith are the two quarterbacks the Minnesota Vikings are prioritizing at the quarterback position, if they are released and become available, although Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa and Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins, a former Viking, are also on their radar.
Huddle Up: The team is expected to move on from J.J. McCarthy, or at least challenge him with a competition from a veteran who has won in this league. The team is casting a wide net at the position, and they are likely kicking themselves for letting Sam Darnold walk out the door.

Atlanta Falcons impending free-agent RB Tyler Allgeier is seeking a contract "in the neighborhood of three years, $22 million this offseason", in the opinion of The Athletic's Josh Kendall.
Set to hit free agency in March, Allgeier is clearly looking for a starting opportunity. For fantasy football, opportunity is king for running backs, and Allgeier has shown glimpses of efficiency and touchdown-scoring ability. Pay attention to his landing spot come free agency, as Allgeier's fantasy value is directly tied to where he ends up in 2026.

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts had the franchise tag placed on him on Tuesday, Feb. 24.
Huddle Up: Pitts has entrenched himself as a top-two target in the Falcons passing game. As such, pairing that with the arrival of new head coach Kevin Stefanski, he now finds himself firmly entrenched in the TE1 conversation for 2026.

Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins will be released at the start of the new league year, general manager Ian Cunningham confirmed. He also confirmed the team wouldn't re-sign him.
Huddle Up: Cousins, who turns 38 in August, will have suitors, and he'll be a midrange QB2 in fantasy in probably all of those places.

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts is reportedly expected to receive the franchise tag from the team, according to a source on Monday, Feb. 23.
Huddle Up: Last season, Pitts had by far his best season since his rookie campaign in 2021, finishing as 2025's TE2 in fantasy. Pitts set career highs in targets (118), receptions (88) and touchdowns (5), leading the Falcons to keep him in the fold with the franchise tag for 2026. Thanks to his breakout season, it was likely that Pitts would receive the franchise tag and not hit the open market. Looking forward to 2026, Pitts' slightly unstable production over the last few seasons leads some to undervalue him for fantasy. Now with some security as a top-two target on the Falcons next to Drake London, Pitts is a solid TE1 with upside in fantasy drafts.

Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. (knee) may not be guaranteed to start when he returns from a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Team president Matt Ryan was noncommittal when asked about the situation. "Quarterback's obviously very important and we're excited about Mike and what he's doing with his rehab," Ryan said. "I've been up at the facility the last three weeks, and Michael's been in there attacking that and he's in a good space right now, so we're excited about where he is at. But certainly, a lot of discussions for us about the entire roster."
Huddle Up: Penix is a midrange QB2 with a cloud of questions. They're expected to move on from Kirk Cousins, which means the team could look to bring in a veteran that could push or overtake Penix, who has been injury prone in his collegiate and professional career.

Atlanta Falcons WR Darnell Mooney could be cut this offseason by the team, in the opinion of NFL.com's Matt Okada.
Huddle Up: After a 2024 season where Mooney earned 106 targets and was just eight yards shy of his second 1,000-yard season, he took a huge step back in his second season with the Falcons in 2025. Mooney totaled just 72 targets in 15 games last season, with 32 receptions for 443 yards and one touchdown. It's going to be hard for Atlanta to look at his $18.4 million cap number in 2026 with that kind of lackluster production. The Falcons' offense is centered around Bijan Robinson and Drake London, so it may make sense for the Falcons to get cheaper at the receiver position through free agency, the draft or the trade market. No matter how it shakes out for Mooney in 2026, he's a low-end and ultimately replaceable fantasy wide receiver moving forward.

Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins could be cut this offseason by the team, in the opinion of NFL.com's Matt Okada.
Huddle Up: Cousins has been attached to several teams that need quarterback help in 2026. He is likely to get a chance to start somewhere, so he is worth keeping tabs on.

Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins has a chance to remain with the Falcons next season, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Huddle Up: Cousins is expected to be released this offseason, but fantasy players should monitor the situation to see if the Falcons decide to keep him. He could compete with Michael Penix Jr. for the starting job if he returns but will only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he plays.

Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins is expected to be released before the start of the new league year in March. That gives him a choice where or if he wants to play in the 2026 season, league sources said Saturday, Feb. 7.
Huddle Up: Cousins just restructured his contract, and recently he said he feels good wanted to play in 2026. It just appears that will be in another uniform, and it's uncertain if he'll be a starter or a backup.

Atlanta Falcons RB Bijan Robinson's 5,648 yards from scrimmage are the most by a player age-23 or younger in NFL history.
Huddle Up: Robinson topped 2,000 yards from scrimmage in 2025, surpassing 1,400 yards rushing for the second consecutive season while adding a career-high 820 receiving yards. Robinson is as versatile as any back in the NFL, and he will be in the mix to be the No. 1 overall pick in fantasy drafts in 2026.

Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. (knee) said he's ahead of schedule in his recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
Huddle Up: Penix will be a QB2 option in fantasy with some questions. He has talent around him and a new offensive-minded coach coming in. He just has shown the propensity for injury his entire college and pro career.

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts caught four of his five touchdowns in December and finished the month with 26 receptions and 329 yards.
Huddle Up: Pitts had a strong end to the 2025 season and is scheduled to be a free agent this offseason. There is a chance that he receives the franchise tag, so fantasy players should monitor the situation. He should have a solid role in the passing game no matter where he plays in 2026 and can be a No. 1 tight end in most fantasy leagues.

Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. (knee) is working out and eyeing a return to full workout by April.
Huddle Up: Penix remains up in the air for his role with the Falcons in 2026. It will depend on what the team does with Kirk Cousins, but hopes are high if he is healthy and working with new head coach Kevin Stefanski. Free agency will clear things up in terms of his stock as a fantasy option in 2026.

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts could be a candidate for the franchise tag, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, who quotes an AFC executive that says the projected $15.9 million tag number is "reasonable," and that retaining Pitts "seems like a good move at this stage."
Huddle Up: Pitts came on late to finish near the top of the overall TE rankings, though that was heavily influenced by his huge game against the Buccaneers, not to mention a number of injuries to would-be top performers like Brock Bowers, Sam LaPorta and Tucker Kraft. No matter where Pitts suits up next season, he figures to be a risk/reward selection given his up-and-down play.

Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins agreed to a contract revision Tuesday, Jan. 6, on the final two years of his contract. As part of the restructure, there is now a guarantee in the amount of $67.9 million for the 2027 season that vests March 13. The restructure also included reducing his 2026 base salary from a non-guaranteed $35 million to just $2.1 million, a difference of $32.9 million. That amount equals the increase in his 2027 compensation that this amended deal includes, just split differently.
Huddle Up: The restructure could make it easier to move him, but he could wind up opening the season as the starter with Michael Penix Jr. recovering from knee surgery. If Cousins is a starter on a roster, he'll be a QB2 option in fantasy.

Atlanta Falcons WR Darnell Mooney caught three passes for 20 yards against the New Orleans Saints in Week 18. He was targeted seven times during the game.
Huddle Up: Mooney was coming off an outstanding 2024 season but took a big step back this season. He caught at least four passes in only one game and finished with only one receiving touchdown. He should still be a top-three receiver for the Falcons and could be a late round pick in some leagues.

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts caught six passes for 58 yards against the New Orleans Saints in Week 18. He was targeted nine times during the game.
Huddle Up: Pitts had one of his best seasons in the NFL in 2025 and is scheduled to be a free agent this offseason. The Falcons will likely look to try to keep Pitts and could use the franchise tag on him. Pitts will be a starter no matter where he plays in 2026 and will be a No. 1 tight end in fantasy leagues.
