The Minnesota Vikings are reportedly "unlikely" to name a starting quarterback between Vikings QB Kyler Murray and QB J.J. McCarthy before training camp, in the opinion of Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk on Friday, April 3. Florio also reports that competition will likely "commence during preseason practices and games."
Huddle Up: The Vikings' starting quarterback competition will be one of the most-watched competitions in 2026, as whoever wins out will be, at the very least, in the streaming conversation for fantasy football. Murray winning out would be the better outcome for managers who draft Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, as Murray at least has a track record of providing fantasy value to wide receivers over his career, with Marvin Harrison Jr., DeAndre Hopkins, A.J. Green, Christian Kirk, and a host of others. McCarthy may have untapped upside at the position, but you have to figure that the fact that the Vikings brought in Murray doesn't bode well for the team's confidence in McCarthy being the locked-in long-term answer in Minnesota.

Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions WR Greg Dortch's one-year, $1.402 million contract includes $1.075 million fully guaranteed and a 2026 base salary of $1.215 million.
Huddle Up: For four seasons, Dortch had been the Cardinals' on-again, off-again slot receiver and return specialist. In 2025, he had his worst statistical season as a Cardinal with just 33 targets, 29 receptions and 206 yards. Dortch will do most of this in a new home in 2026 in Detroit, but keep him undrafted for fantasy football this season.

Free-agent QB Kyler Murray (Cardinals) signed with the Minnesota Vikings Thursday, March 12. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Huddle Up: Murray will compete with J.J. McCarthy for the starting quarterback job and should probably be the leading candidate at this point. He can probably be considered a high-end No. 2 fantasy quarterback in most leagues if he wins the job with the chance to become a No. 1 fantasy quarterback during the season if he plays well.

Arizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett has not been informed that he will enter 2026 as the starting quarterback, according to a source.
Huddle Up: Although Kyler Murray is officially out of the picture, the Cardinals did add Gardner Minshew to the quarterback room. Brissett put up solid stats after taking over as the starter last year, but it remains to be seen if Arizona will add another veteran at the position or draft a rookie.

Free-agent QB Kyler Murray (Cardinals) is visiting the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday, March 12, and according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the belief around the NFL is that Minnesota is Murray's likely landing spot.
Huddle Up: It seems unlikely that Murray would choose to sign with the Vikings unless he will be given a chance to be the starting quarterback. This would also mean that J.J. MCarthy's future with the team is in question. Murray would have some solid weapons to work with in Minnesota, but a return to QB1 status would largely depend on his health and his scrambling ability.

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray has reportedly been released by the Cardinals, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN on Wednesday, March 11.
Huddle Up: Murray's 2025 season consisted of just five games played, where he never finished better than QB16. With just one season of 25 or more passing touchdowns, Murray has been highly touted in fantasy circles but has rarely lived up to the lofty potential of being drafted No. 1 overall in 2019. With two top-seven finishes to start his career, Murray has not finished above QB10 in the last five seasons. Murray will resume his career elsewhere after seven seasons in Arizona, and he has a good chance of remaining a starting quarterback wherever he ends up. He'll be a fantasy dart throw in 2026 with the hopes he can reclaim some of his past production from the start of the decade.

Arizona Cardinals RB Bam Knight agreed to terms on a new one-year contract with the Cardinals Wednesday, March 11. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Huddle Up: Knight had some success this past season when he was asked to take on a bigger role, but he will likely be part of a committee next season with James Conner and Trey Benson. Fantasy players can monitor the situation, but Knight will not have much value if he sees a limited workload.

Updating previous reports, Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner revised his contract to a one-year, $2.355 million deal with $2.1 million guaranteed. It will carry a $4.83-million salary cap figure.
Huddle Up: The Cards signed Tyler Allgeier and still have Trey Benson, which makes Conner's outlook murky in his age-31 season. He'll be a depth back to handcuff to Allgeier later in drafts.

Arizona Cardinals PK Chad Ryland has agreed to terms on a one-year contract, sources said Sunday, March 8. Financial terms on the agreement are undisclosed.
Huddle Up: Ryland did a good job in 2025 for the Cardinals, hitting 25-of-33 on field goals, including 6-of-10 from 50+ yards, while going 36-for-36 on point-after attempts. He had 111 points in 2025, a new career high, and he is averaging 110.5 points in his first two seasons with the Cardinals. He could be a borderline PK1/PK2 in fantasy leagues in 2026. Most likely, he will be used as a bye-week replacement and streaming option, mostly.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner has agreed to a revised contract for 2026. He was scheduled to have a $9.8 million salary cap hit in 2026, making $7.9 million. Terms of the restructured deal were not yet available, only that he agreed to the revision on Sunday, March 8.
Huddle Up: Conner started the season with a total of two touchdowns in the first two games, but he suffered a season-ending ankle injury in Week 3 against the San Francisco 49ers, and then it was a turnstile in the backfield for Arizona. Conner will be 31 years old by the time the regular season starts, and he has 110 NFL games under his belt in nine seasons with the Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers. There is a lot of mileage on that odometer. While fantasy managers will still want him for his scoring ability in 2026, make sure to have plenty of depth on hand at the position.

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray was told by the team he will be released when the new league year starts.
Huddle Up: Murray will be able to sign anywhere in 2026, and it is likely he will sign with a team to be able to compete right away. His fantasy value will be determined by that alone, so free agency will need to be monitored.

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray is reportedly a trade target for the New York Jets this offseason, in the opinion of Connor Hughes of SNY.tv on Monday, March 2.
Murray seems likely to resume his career elsewhere after seven seasons in Arizona, but he has a good chance of remaining a starting quarterback wherever he ends up. For 2026, pay attention to where Murray lands, but he'll be a dart-throw fantasy quarterback in the hopes he can reclaim some of his past production from the start of the decade.

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray prefers to be released ahead of free agency, according to league sources, and Murray's representation is expected to meet with the Cardinals at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine.
Huddle Up: Murray appears to be on borrowed time in Arizona, but while he prefers to hit the open market, the Cardinals may look to trade the quarterback instead. Murray is likely a QB2 wherever he ends up in 2026, but he could have QB1 upside if he can regain his scrambling ability.

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray's future with the team is uncertain at this point, and head coach Mike LaFleur said there is no timetable for a decision on Murray.
Huddle Up: Murray is not expected back next season, but fantasy players will need to wait for an official decision from the Cardinals. He will likely be a starting quarterback for a team in 2026 but may only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in most leagues.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner could be a candidate to be released this offseason because the team would save more than $7.5 million if they let him go, in the opinion of CardsWire's Jess Root.
Huddle Up: Conner missed a majority of the season because of an injury but should be a starting running back for a team in 2026. Fantasy players can monitor the situation over the next month to see where he will be playing next season. He will likely be a No. 2 or No. 3 running back in fantasy leagues.

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray will likely be traded or released this offseason, according to NFL Network's Ian Rappoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo.
Huddle Up: The Cardinals will likely need to make a decision on Murray around the start of free agency, so fantasy players can monitor the situation. He should have a good chance to find a starting job if he becomes a free agent but will probably be a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

Arizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett may be placed on the trade block if the team decides to keep QB Kyler Murray, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Jeremy Fowler.
Huddle Up: Brissett played in 14 games this past season and threw for 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions during that span. He would likely receive interest from a few teams if he became available but will only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he starts for a team in 2026.

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray's future with the team hasn't been decided, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com, and Fowler believes it is still possible that Murray remains with the team next season.
Huddle Up: Murray was essentially benched at the end of last season, and it seemed inevitable that the two sides would part ways. That may still be how the situation plays out, but it sounds like the door is still open for a potential return. Murray will have QB1 upside wherever he plays, but the injury concerns are real.

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Wilson recorded 809 of his 1,006 receiving yards during the second half of the 2025 regular season. He also caught six of his seven touchdowns during that span.
Huddle Up: Wilson became one of the main targets in the passing game once Marvin Harrison Jr. suffered his injury and was able to produce with the added workload. He should be one of the starting receivers for the Cardinals next season and can be at least a No. 4 receiver in most fantasy leagues.

Arizona Cardinals TE Trey McBride caught nine of his 11 touchdowns during the second half of games this season. He did record 658 receiving yards in the first half of games and 563 receiving yards in the second half.
Huddle Up: McBride has been a significant part of the passing game over the last few seasons but saw a big jump in touchdowns compared to last season. He should be a top option again next year for the Cardinals and will be one of the first tight ends to be selected in fantasy drafts.

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray likely will be made available in a trade this offseason, and the Cardinals are expected to look for at least a Day 2 pick in any trade, according to sources.
Huddle Up: Murray seems unlikely to return to the Cardinals next season but should have a good chance to find a starting job with another team. He has played well at times during his career but may only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback to start the 2026 season.

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray is not expected to return to the Cardinals next season, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, who said that he believes the team is "planning to move on" from Murray, regardless of who is hired as the next head coach.
Huddle Up: Considering that the Cardinals basically shut Murray down once Jacoby Brissett started playing well, this isn't a surprise. What's unclear at this point is what kind of market there will be for Murray, who could be traded or released during the offseason. Murray gets a significant amount of money guaranteed on the fifth day of the new league year, which will be in mid-March, so expect a resolution before then.

Arizona Cardinals TE Elijah Higgins caught all three of his targets for 28 yards in a 37-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 18.
Huddle Up: Outside of a 91-yard performance in Week 16, it was a quiet year for Higgins. Of course, there aren't exactly a lot of targets to go around at the position with Trey McBride setting reception records. Still, Higgins showed he can produce when give the chance, and if McBride were to miss time next year, Higgins could enter the streaming conversation.

Arizona Cardinals TE Trey McBride caught seven of his eight targets for 65 yards in a 37-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 18, extending his single-season record for receptions by a tight end to 126.
Huddle Up: Not only did McBride set the reception record, but he also set new highs in both receiving yards and touchdowns. In fact, his 11 touchdown receptions were five more than he had in his three previous seasons combined. McBride should be considered the No. 1 option at tight end heading into 2026.

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Wilson caught five of his eight targets for 99 yards and a touchdown in a 37-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 18.
Huddle Up: When Marvin Harrison Jr. went down with an injury, Wilson more than filled the void. He ended up going over 1,000 receiving yards for the year and caught six touchdowns in the final five games. If the Cardinals can figure out their quarterback situation, Wilson should be able to maintain fantasy relevance, even while playing alongside Harrison.

Arizona Cardinals RB Emari Demercado rushed twice for 29 yards and caught one pass for 28 yards in a 37-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 18.
Huddle Up: Even with all the injuries to the Arizona backfield this season, Demercado was unable to carve out a significant role in the offense. If he couldn't find fantasy relevance for the Cardinals this season, it seems unlikely to happen in any situation.

Arizona Cardinals RB Michael Carter rushed seven times for 18 yards and caught three passes for 21 yards in a 37-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 18.
Huddle Up: Injuries forced Carter into the lead role in the Arizona backfield, but James Conner and Trey Benson should be healthy to start next season, and Carter will be hitting free agency. He could land a backup role somewhere, but it would take a special set of circumstances for Carter to find himself in a prominent role in 2026.

Arizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett completed 22 of his 31 passes for 243 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in a 37-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 18. He also rushed three times for 19 yards and a lost a fumble.
Huddle Up: Brissett put up solid number after taking over as the starter, and he threw multiple touchdowns in 10 of his 12 starts. Of course, the Cardinals also lost 11 of those games. With the Kyler Murray era likely over, the Cardinals will presumably look to add a young quarterback ahead of next season. Brissett could still open the year as the starter, but it would be a surprise to see him under center for the entire year.

Arizona Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr. (foot, heel) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Friday, Jan. 2.
Huddle Up: Michael Wilson has taken over as the top receiver while Harrison has been sidelined and has posted at least 50 yards in six of the last seven games. He should be a starting option in all leagues this week.

Arizona Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr. (heel) has been ruled out for Week 18.
Huddle Up: Michael Wilson has five TDs in the last four games and has emerged as a WR2 candidate against the Los Angeles Rams. No receiver outside of him and TE Trey McBride is seeing enough looks for fantasy consideration.
