San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk caught four of his five targets for 43 yards in a 23-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2.
Huddle Up: Aiyuk improved on his two-catch performance from the opener, but his final line still left a lot to be desired. Aiyuk's slow start comes on the heels of his contract dispute this offseason, so his production could start to pick up in the coming weeks as he logs more reps.

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk finished with two catches for 28 yards on five targets in Week 1 against the New York Jets. He nearly had a touchdown on a diving attempt in the end zone, but he was unable to hold on.

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk is not expected to see his full workload in Week 1's game versus the New York Jets, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Huddle Up: Aiyuk was a "hold-in" during training camp, attending meetings but not practicing due to contract issues which were finally resolved last week. Although Shanahan said that Aiyuk has kept himself in good shape, he feels that the physical strain of the position means that he should see fewer offensive snaps than normal. Despite this, he should be a starting option in all fantasy leagues.

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk agreed to terms on a four-year contract extension with the 49ers Thursday, Aug. 29, worth $120 million, according to sources. The deal includes $76 million in guaranteed money.
Huddle Up: Aiyuk finally received his new contract and probably will be on the field for Week 1 but may be rusty since he missed all of training camp because of his contract. He should still be a weekly starting option in fantasy leagues, but players may want to lower their expectations for the first game or two.

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk was given a "clean bill of health" from team doctors on Wednesday, Aug. 28, per ESPN.com's Nick Wagoner, though he did not participate in practice. Head coach Kyle Shanahan had noted earlier in camp that Aiyuk was dealing with soreness in his back and neck.
Huddle Up: Anyone hoping the official end of training camp would bring this ongoing stalemate to a close will be disappointed. There's still time for resolution before Week 1, but the possibility of Aiyuk missing actual regular-season snaps seems more real than ever. He remains a solid WR2 for fantasy owners, even with the uncertainty.

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk is not participating in practice Wednesday, Aug. 28.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation to see if Aiyuk will return to practice before Week 1. It is not known if Aiyuk will be eased back into the offense since he skipped all of training camp because of his contract situation. Players may want to lower their expectations early in the season, but he should still be a starting option in most fantasy leagues.

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk had another meeting with the 49ers Monday, Aug. 19, about a possible contract extension and the two sides have been making progress, according to sources. The two sides still have some minor details to work on.
Huddle Up: It seems like Aiyuk likely will be on the field for the 49ers in Week 1 and should have a good role in their passing game. He should be a weekly starting option in all fantasy leagues.

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk (back) is dealing with a sore back, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan, and it's that injury that's keeping him practicing more than the contract situation.
Huddle Up: Who knows if there's anything to this back issue, but it seems awfully likely that an extension or trade will probably make Aiyuk's back feel right as rain. Stay tuned to see how this situation is resolved.

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk has yet to accept a standing offer for a long-term contract extension with the team. Additionally, the Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly in "a good place" on a long-term contract for Aiyuk if the 49ers decide to sign off on a trade between the two teams, according to sources.
Huddle Up: All of this suggests that trade terms have been worked out, but a delay indicates San Francisco is likely hoping it can make another push or two to keep Aiyuk. For whatever it is worth, there was speculation last week that the 49ers would be willing to accept Roman Wilson and a 2025 first-round pick in return. If Aiyuk lands in Pittsburgh, he would likely maintain his status as a high-end fantasy WR2 and send George Pickens into low-end WR3 territory.

The San Francisco 49ers were close to finalizing a deal recently which would have sent WR Brandon Aiyuk to the Cleveland Browns, in exchange for WR Amari Cooper and second- and fifth-round draft picks, according to multiple sources. However, Aiyuk did not want to accept terms on a multiyear contract extension from the Browns to complete the trade.
Huddle Up: Fantasy owners should continue to monitor this situation to find out where Aiyuk will play this season. When active, he should be viewed as a weekly starting option in all fantasy leagues.
