Cleveland Browns TE Harold Fannin Jr.'s ability to run after the catch is what makes his special, and the Browns offense desperately needs, in the opinion of Cleveland.com's Lance Reisland.
Huddle Up: Fannin could eventually be a special player in fantasy, but he's stuck behind David Njoku for now. Njoku is 29 and has a $20.87 million dead cap hit this season, but it drops to just under $14 million next season before reducing to 2.284 million in '27. So you're probably looking at a full season behind Njoku this year before he could begin to make waves.

Cleveland Browns QBs Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders will not each get 25% of the reps during offseason work or training camp, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. "The big thing for us is making sure that we give the guys enough reps that they need. ... It is not going to be everybody getting 25% of these reps. That is not how it is going to be. We want to give everybody enough reps where we can learn more about them and prepare them to get ready to play," Stefanski told ESPN Cleveland.
Huddle Up: It is almost pointless to guess how the Browns will divide the reps in the offseason and preseason, but it makes sense that the 40-year-old Flacco will see limited reps until August since he should not need much time to get ready. Gabriel is almost certain to make the roster as a third-round pick, so he is the best bet to see the most reps, even if he is the most unlikely of the bunch to be named the starter. Sanders likely has an edge over Pickett entering training camp, but it appears both players will get ample opportunity to prove themselves.

Cleveland Browns RB Dylan Sampson does not have a clear role heading into 2025, in the opinion of The Athletic's Zac Jackson, who writes that he could "potentially" win a job as the team's third-down back.
Huddle Up: For the moment, Sampson sits behind fellow rookie Quinshon Judkins and veteran Jerome Ford, and he could be competing with Pierre Strong initially, though the fact that the Browns invested a fourth-round pick on Sampson should all but guarantee a spot on the roster. If he shines in the preseason, perhaps Sampson could put himself on the map as a late-round flier, but for the time being he projects as no more than a watch-list candidate.

Cleveland Browns RB Jerome Ford is not a lock to make the 53-man roster, in the opinion of The Athletic's Zac Jackson, who writes that "Ford could go from atop the depth chart to a potential trade candidate" depending on how quickly rookie RBs Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson develop. Ford is in the final year of his rookie contract and took a pay cut this offseason.
Huddle Up: Ford has flashed during his time with the Browns, but he's never sustained production, and the team clearly wants to upgrade at the position. If the team feels Judkins is ready for the lead role with Sampson a passing-down option, Ford could be shopped for a late-round pick. If it looks like he'll stick and work as the starter, at least initially, he'd have some short-term value, though selecting as more than an RB5 could be optimistic.

Cleveland Browns RB Quinshon Judkins will "almost certainly" be the team's "feature runner" during his rookie season, in the opinion of The Athletic's Zac Jackson, who notes the team is not expected to bring back RB Nick Chubb while RB Jerome Ford took a pay cut to remain. Jackson adds that Judkins could open the season as the main short-yardage back before becoming the primary runner at "some point" in 2025.
Huddle Up: When you look at the Browns backfield right now, Judkins is the standout name, and outside of Ashton Jeanty with the Raiders and perhaps Omarion Hampton with the Chargers, the former Ohio State product seems poised to fill one of the larger roles for a rookie back this season. With a lot of uncertainty at quarterback, the Browns could look to revive the power running game they used during Chubb's halcyon days. While it might require some patience in the early weeks, Judkins would make an interesting RB3 or RB4 with upside in standard leagues.

Cleveland Browns QBs Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders are all possible candidates for the starting quarterback job this upcoming season, and the Browns want to have a fair and efficient competition for the job, according to The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot.
Huddle Up: Flacco may enter training camp as the leading candidate for the job, but there is no clear frontrunner in the competition. Fantasy players can monitor the situation during camp, but the winner of the job likely will only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback.

Cleveland Browns third-round pick TE Harold Fannin Jr. signed his four-year, $6.7 million deal Friday, May 16. Fannin set FBS single-season records for receptions (117) and receiving yards (1,555) by a TE at Bowling Green last season.
Huddle Up: Keep his name in your back pocket for an upside TE2 selection late in drafts.

Updating previous reports, Cleveland Browns WR Diontae Johnson's one-year deal is for the veteran's minimum of $1.17 million and includes no guaranteed money.
Huddle Up: This is the epitome of a prove-it deal. He'll be 29 when the season starts, and he hasn't reached 1,000 yards since 2021. He'll likely be in the slot with chances to make plays, and he'll be a lottery ticket as a WR4 or WR5.

Free-agent WR Diontae Johnson (Ravens) officially signed an undisclosed contract with the Cleveland Browns on Monday, May 5.
Huddle Up: Johnson will likely compete for targets with Jerry Jeudy and Cedric Tillman this fall, assuming the same issues that made him a journeyman last year don't crop up again this season. While he will likely be used at all three receiver spots, Johnson makes the most sense as the primary slot option in three-wide sets. He could easily emerge as the alpha receiver in this offense, although it is fair to wonder if any of Cleveland's quarterbacks - outside of Joe Flacco - will be able to make him relevant in fantasy in 2025.

Cleveland Browns RB Jerome Ford reportedly agreed to a reworked contract on Friday, May 2, that will lower his base salary from $3.486 million in 2025 to a guaranteed $1.75 million, according to a source.
Huddle Up: For all intents and purposes, this news likely closes the book on Nick Chubb returning to the Browns after the team spent used two picks in the first four rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft at his position. The Chicago Bears have reportedly expressed their interest in adding Chubb, so it would not be a surprise if a deal between the two sides gets done shortly. As for Ford, he will likely start the season as the team's primary back on passing downs. How long that remains the case is another question. Ford is set to become a free agent at the end of the season.

Free-agent WR Diontae Johnson (Ravens) agreed to terms with the Cleveland Browns Monday, April 28, according to sources. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Huddle Up: Johnson is coming off a disappointing 2024 season but has a chance to earn a solid role with the Browns. Fantasy players can monitor the situation because he could be a late round pick in fantasy drafts if he is involved in the Browns passing game.

Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders was selected by the Cleveland Browns with the 144th overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Huddle Up: The Browns do not have a clear starting quarterback, so Sanders may be given the chance to compete with Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco for the job during training camp. He would be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in fantasy leagues if he wins the job.

Tennessee RB Dylan Sampson was selected by the Cleveland Browns with the 126th overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Huddle Up: Sampson will be joining Jerome Ford and fellow rookie running back Quinshon Judkins as the top running backs for the Browns. All three should see playing time this upcoming season, so Sampson probably may only be a late round pick in fantasy drafts.

Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel was selected by the Cleveland Browns with the 94th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Huddle Up: Although Gabriel is unlikely to open the year as the starter, it isn't out of the question that he could see some action if Joe Flacco struggles or misses time.

Ohio State RB Quinshon Judkins was selected by the Cleveland Browns with the 36th overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Huddle Up: Judkins has a chance to share playing time with Jerome Ford this upcoming season if he performs well during training camp and could earn more playing time as the season goes on. He can be a later round pick in fantasy leagues that can be valuable during the season.

Cleveland Browns QB Kenny Pickett will be competing with QB Joe Flacco for the starting quarterback job during training camp but said he plans to be the starter in 2025.
Huddle Up: It is not known if Pickett or Flacco will have an advantage entering camp, so fantasy players can monitor the situation. Neither quarterbacks should be considered more than a No. 2 QB in fantasy leagues.

Free-agent QB Joe Flacco (Colts) agreed to a one-year, $4 million deal with the Cleveland Browns Friday, April 11. The deal is worth up to $13 million in incentives.
Huddle Up: Flacco will likely come in as the backup but could wind up competing with Kenny Pickett for the starting gig. At most, he'd be a two-QB league depth piece.

Cleveland Browns QB Kenny Pickett said he has been told that he will have a chance to compete for the starting quarterback job during training camp.
Huddle Up: The Browns have been linked to several veteran quarterbacks this offseason, so Pickett likely will have competition for the job. He did not have great success when he started for the Pittsburgh Steelers and would be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in leagues if he wins the job.

Cleveland Browns WR Jerry Jeudy averaged 9.9 targets per game without WR Amari Cooper last season compared to 6.0 targets per game with Cooper.
Huddle Up: Jeudy erupted once Cooper was out of the picture, delivering career-best production and becoming a borderline WR1. Cleveland's quarterback situation remains less than ideal, but Jeudy should be the focal point of the passing attack and stay in the WR2 mix.

Cleveland Browns WR Jerry Jeudy led the NFL with 13 dropped passes during the 2024 regular season.
Huddle Up: Jeudy was one of the better receivers in the NFL during the second half of the season after taking over as the main receiver for the Browns. He should be a big part of the passing game again next season if he stays with the Browns and will be a weekly starting option in all leagues.

Houston Texans WR Diontae Johnson was waived on Tuesday, Jan. 14.
Huddle Up: Johnson is moving on from his fourth team in less than a year. He must have worn out his welcome with or asked for his release from the Texans, who need help at the position with Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell both out for the season. There is little doubt he still has something left after what he did with the Carolina Panthers earlier this season, but he could be waiting a while to find a new home after being traded twice and waived twice in 10 months.

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (Achilles) ruptured his Achilles again and could miss the entire 2025 season, according to sources Friday, Jan. 10.
Huddle Up: Watson was three months into rehab on the initial torn Achilles so this is likely going to keep Watson from being an option in 2025. The Browns hold the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft so there's a chance they could focus on the quarterback position.

Houston Texans WR Diontae Johnson will continue to be fed in the offense, according to head coach DeMeco Ryans.
Huddle Up: He had two catches for 12 yards on four targets in the season finale. He'll be a suspect WR3 or flex option in playoff leagues.

Philadelphia Eagles QB Kenny Pickett (ribs) was limited during practice Wednesday, Jan. 8.
Huddle Up: Pickett's role in the Wild Card playoff game will be determined by Jalen Hurts' availability. Pickett likely will be the starter if Hurts is not able to play but probably can be avoided in most leagues.

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (Achilles) suffered a setback in his recovery from a torn Achilles, which will delay his recovery. It's too early for a timetable, however, according to Browns general manager Andrew Berry.
Huddle Up: Watson wasn't a great fantasy option next year before this setback. Stay tuned, but he's unlikely to be more than a two-QB league option.

Contrary to a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles QB Kenny Pickett (ribs) is active for Week 18's game versus the New York Giants.
Huddle Up: Pickett does not appear on the team's official list of inactive players for this afternoon but that also does not necessarily mean that he will play, since Philadelphia has nothing to play for as far as playoff seeding goes. He had been listed as questionable on the injury report despite sitting out all three of the Eagles' practice sessions during the week. QB Tanner McKee is still expected to make his first career start and play in his second career game this afternoon but is not a viable fantasy lineup game because many of Philly's starters will be rested.

Cleveland Browns WR Jerry Jeudy caught six of his 13 targets for a team-high 63 yards in a 35-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 18.
Huddle Up: Despite a revolving door at the quarterback position, Jeudy's first year in Cleveland was by far the most productive season of his career. He has become a legitimate WR3.

Cleveland Browns RB Jerome Ford (ankle) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Friday, Jan. 3.
Huddle Up: Ford was already ruled out for the game against the Baltimore Ravens. With Pierre Strong (concussion) also hitting IR, the Browns will turn to D'Onta Foreman, who can be viewed as a volume-based RB3 play.
