The Minnesota Vikings suffered a loss in the NFC wild-card game against the Los Angeles Rams in a game moved to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. due to the terrible Southern California wildfires situation. QB Sam Darnold had a disastrous game, completing 25-of-40 passes for 245 yards, one touchdown and one interception with 19 rushing yards and a lost fumble, while RB Aaron Jones ended up with 13 rushes for 48 yards and 12 receiving yards on six targets. RB Cam Akers chipped in with 39 rushing yards, while WR T.J. Hockenson had five grabs for a game-high 64 yards and a touchdown. WRs Jordan Addison and Justin Jefferson each had team-highs with eight targets, with Jefferson posting five catches and 58 yards, while Addison had three grabs for 29 yards. TE Johnny Mundt had two catches for 28 yards, too. LB Blake Cashman led the way on defense with 11 total stops, five solo tackles, a sack and a QB hit, while LB Ivan Pace Jr. had a game-high seven solo tackles with 10 total stops and two tackles for loss.

Huddle Up: Akers is coming off his best game with the Vikings and should see a handful of touches against the Los Angeles Rams. He could be a possible flex option in some deeper leagues.

Minnesota Vikings RB Cam Akers (illness) is expected to be ready for the NFC wild-card game Monday, Jan. 13 against the Los Angeles Rams. Head coach Kevin O'Connell said Sunday, Jan. 12 that Akers has been battling an illness, and the team is monitoring the situation.
Huddle Up: Akers led the way in the regular-season finale against the Detroit Lions last Sunday night, averaging 10.8 yards per tote. However, he is likely to take a backseat to Aaron Jones, who is also trending in the right direction and expected to start. Akers is worth a look as a RB3 or flex fantasy option in postseason leagues, and he isn't a bad mid-tier play in DFS if he can get to eight to 10 total touches.

Minnesota Vikings LB Patrick Jones II (knee) did not take part in practice on Saturday, Jan. 11, and was ruled out for the wild-card game. Also, RB Cam Akers (illness) did not practice and is questionable, DL Taki Taimani (ankle) practiced in full but is questionable, S Harrison Smith (rest) and CB Stephon Gilmore (rest) did not take part in practice but carry no designation and RB Ty Chandler (illnes), RB Aaron Jones (quadriceps), QB Sam Darnold (quadriceps), CB Fabian Moreau (hip) and TE Josh Oliver (wrist) practiced in full and were removed from the injury report.

Minnesota Vikings RB Cam Akers carried the ball six times for 65 yards against the Detroit Lions in Week 18. He also caught two passes for four yards.
Huddle Up: Akers accounted for Minnesota's biggest play of the night, a 58-yard run, but his other seven touches amounted to only 11 yards. He could potentially be deployed as a flex in DFS formats this Monday against his former club.

Minnesota Vikings RB Cam Akers rushed six times for 18 yards and caught two passes for 15 yards and a score in a 27-25 win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 15.
Huddle Up: Aaron Jones sufferd a quadriceps injury late in the game, leaving Akers to lead the backfield in the fourth quarter. If Jones is sidelined for the finale, Akers should be a quality flex option.

Minnesota Vikings RB Cam Akers ended up with 10 rushing attempts for 24 yards and a touchdown in Week 15 against the Chicago Bears. He was not targeted in the passing game.
Huddle Up: Akers is worth a look as a RB3 or flex fantasy leagues option heading into Week 16 on the road against the Seattle Seahawks. The touchdown was his first since Week 4 against the Buffalo Bills when he was a member of the Houston Texans. His fantasy appeal is limited to deeper leagues as long as Aaron Jones is healthy.

Minnesota Vikings RB Cam Akers rushed for 37 yards on five carries against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 14.
Huddle Up: Akers has been productive in limited touches over the last few games but probably will not see many more touches as long as Aaron Jones is healthy. He can be avoided in leagues unless Jones suffers an injury.

Minnesota Vikings RB Cam Akers ended up with four runs for 22 yards in Week 13 against the Arizona Cardinals, and he was not targeted in the pass game. He had an 18-yard scamper as the highlight of his day.
Huddle Up: Akers could see some extra run in Week 14 if Aaron Jones continues to put the ball on the ground. Jones fumbled twice, losing one, and he has four total fumbles with two lost in the past three outings. Head coach Kevin O'Connell appeared to bench Jones, limiting him to five total rushing attempts, so it's a situation worth watching closely.
