Dallas Cowboys impending free-agent QB Dak Prescott likely will receive the exclusive franchise tag this offseason if the two sides are not able to agree to a long-term contract, according to sources.
Huddle Up: Prescott would not be able to talk to other teams if he receives the exclusive tag and would remain with the Cowboys for at least one more season. He can be considered a No. 1 fantasy quarterback in 2020.

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten, an impending free agent, would be welcomed back to the team by owner Jerry Jones. 'I feel strongly he wants to play, and I think he can play,' Jones said. 'I would hope that he would not ever be anything but a Cowboy. It's meaningful. He's in the tops right there. I do think he can play. As I sit here right now I think he can make a real contribution to the Cowboys.'
Huddle Up: Even at 37, some may not realize Witten finished as a back-end TE1 last season (11th in PPR, 12th in standard total fantasy points), catching 63 of 87 targets for 560 yards. But whether he re-signs in Big D or moves on, the safe bet is that Witten's TE1 days are now done.

Representatives of Dallas Cowboys impending free-agent WR Amari Cooper met with the team Thursday, Feb. 27, at the NFL Scouting Combine, according to a source. The Cowboys stressed their goal is to reach long-term deals with both Cooper and QB Dak Prescott. The transition tag is likely not an option for Cooper.

Dallas Cowboys impending free-agent QB Dak Prescott's agent met with the Cowboys Wednesday, Feb. 26, to discuss a possible long-term contract for Prescott.
Huddle Up: The two sides have about two weeks to reach an agreement before the team likely would have to place the franchise tag on Prescott. He probably will remain with the Cowboys for at least one more season and can be a No. 1 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

Dallas Cowboys impending free-agent WR Amari Cooper and WR Randall Cobb hopefully will return to the team next season, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.
Huddle Up: Cooper probably will receive the franchise tag or transition tag this offseason if the two sides are not able to reach a deal in the next few weeks. He should be a weekly starting option in all fantasy leagues in 2020. Cobb had a bounce back season in 2019 and should receive interest if he hits free agency. He could be a No. 3 receiver or flex option in leagues.

Dallas Cowboys impending free-agent QB Dak Prescott's agent has not talked with the Cowboys about a long-term contract since September, according to vice president Stephen Jones. The two sides may meet at the NFL Scouting Combine, but nothing has been finalized.
Huddle Up: It appears like Prescott likely will receive the franchise tag this offseason since the two sides have not negotiated for a while. He was one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL this past season and can be a No. 1 quarterback in fantasy leagues in 2020.

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott has averaged 8.2 yards per attempt and a passer rating of 102.3 with WR Amari Cooper on the field compared to averages of 7.0 yards per attempt and a passer rating of 89.5 with Cooper off the field.
Huddle Up: The Cowboys still need to work out contracts with Prescott and Cooper, but both players are expected to be back, either on long-term deals or via the franchise and transition tags. Assuming the duo stays put, Prescott will enter 2020 as a midrange QB1 while Cooper will be a WR1 candidate.

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is hoped to have a contract extension done by the end of the franchise tag window March 10.
Huddle Up: Prescott will likely remain with the club next season, either via an extension or the franchise tag. He'll be a midrange QB1 in fantasy.

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott reportedly turned down a contract extension last September which would have paid him $33 million a year, according to multiple sources, in the hopes of landing a deal which would have eclipsed the average annual value of Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson's four-year, $140 million deal.
Huddle Up: The Cowboys could place the franchise tag on Prescott if the two sides are unable to agree to terms on an extension, although there's a possibility that he could skip offseason workouts and miss valuable time adjusting to new head coach Mike McCarthy if that were to happen. He should be viewed as a solid QB1 option in all fantasy formats entering the 2020 season.

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is a pending free agent, and Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones said Thursday, Feb. 6, that negotiations on a long-term extension will soon get more serious. 'We want to get this done,' Jones said. 'Things are fixing to heat up. We want to put every foot forward and try to grind this out and get a deal done.'
Huddle Up: Prescott will almost certainly receive a franchise tag if the two sides can't hammer out a new deal, but that also could entail Prescott skipping offseason workouts and missing valuable time under new head coach Mike McCarthy. Most definitely a situation to monitor with Prescott positioned as solid QB1 in fantasy entering 2020.

Dallas Cowboys WR Amari Cooper, a pending free agent, could wind up with the Philadelphia Eagles if he isn't re-signed by the Cowboys, in the opinion of NFL Network analyst David Carr.
Huddle Up: Cooper finished as fantasy's No. 7 wideout last season and has ranked among the league's elite since arriving in Dallas via trade midway through the 2018 season. That said, it's tough to imagine the Cowboys failing to retain Cooper, but Jerry Jones & Co. have a number of other financial decisions to make as well, including a potential new contract for QB Dak Prescott, so this situation definitely bears watching.

Dallas Cowboys impending free-agent QB Dak Prescott may skip offseason workouts if he does not receive a long-term contract this offseason. Prescott is expected to receive the franchise tag.
Huddle Up: Prescott wants a long-term deal, but the two sides have not been able to agree on his value. He should be the Cowboys starting quarterback Week 1 and can be a No. 1 quarterback in fantasy leagues if he does not hold out.

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten, a pending free agent, said Saturday he remains undecided on retirement and is realistic about possibly finishing his career with another team.
Huddle Up: The future Hall of Famer did finish 12th among fantasy tight ends (76.9 total points) last season at age 37, but his TE1 days are behind him, and it's hard to imagine him starting over with another team if the Cowboys don't bring him back.

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott, a pending free agent, said Thursday, Jan. 30, that he may stay away from the Cowboys' offseason program is he doesn't receive a new contract and the team applies the franchise tag. 'We'll get to that when we get to that,'' Prescott said. 'I look forward to talking to my agents and when that (tag) comes to play, the direction that we'll go. Until that's a reality, I won't worry about it.'
Huddle Up: Most definitely one of the top storylines to follow this offseason as there will be unrest until fantasy's No. 3 QB of a season ago lands a new deal.

Dallas Cowboys impending free-agent QB Dak Prescott said he is confident that he will receive a long-term contract from the Cowboys this offseason.
Huddle Up: Prescott was one of the most productive quarterbacks in the NFL this season and finished with 4,902 yards and 30 touchdowns. He likely will return to the Cowboys next season and can be a No. 1 fantasy quarterback next season.

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott, a pending free agent, will be re-signed and remain the team's quarterback, Cowboys vice president Will McClay said Thursday, Jan. 23. 'We expect Dak to be our quarterback,' McClay said. 'If the owner/GM says we're going to get it done, he signs the checks. So we'll get that done.'
Huddle Up: Even though the Cowboys were an overall disappointment at 8-8, Prescott had a career year with 4,902 yards and 30 passing TDs to finish as fantasy's No. 3 QB. Barring an shocking turn of developments, Prescott will land a lucrative new deal from the Cowboys and be back in the QB1 mix this offseason.

Dallas Cowboys WR Amari Cooper said Thursday, Jan. 23, he hasn't had recent talks with his agent about his expiring contract, but said he wants to remain in Dallas a long time.
Huddle Up: Cooper is coming off a career year with 1,189 yards and eight TD catches on 79 receptions, and he's expected to re-up with the Cowboys before he has a chance to hit the open market this March. Regardless, he'll be in the WR1 mix heading into 2020.

Dallas Cowboys WR Amari Cooper on Thursday, Jan. 9, was named as a Pro Bowl injury replacement for Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans.
Huddle Up: Cooper set career season highs in receiving yards (1,189) and TDs (eight) as he finished seventh among fantasy WRs in standard-scoring formats. He'll remain on the WR1 list heading into drafts this summer.

Dallas Cowboys WR Amari Cooper said he loves playing with QB Dak Prescott and wants to remain with the team going forward. 'That is part of me liking it,' Cooper said. 'My situation on the team, him being the quarterback, the teammates, where I live. Everything.'
Huddle Up: Cooper has sputtered a bit down the stretch, failing to reach 40 yards in four of the last six games. Still, he has a golden opportunity to end the regular season on a high note when he faces Washington in Week 17, and assuming he remains with Dallas in 2020, he has proven he can be a WR2 with WR1 upside

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (shoulder) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 27, and is not on the injury report for Week 17.
Huddle Up: Prescott should receive his normal workload this week despite the injury and threw for 269 yards and three touchdowns against the Washington Redskins earlier this season. He can be considered a low-end No. 1 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (shoulder) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Dec. 26.
Huddle Up: It's highly unlikely Prescott misses the Cowboys' must-win Week 17 game against the Washington Redskins. Fantasy managers will still want to see at least a limited session Friday. Prescott is a mid-tier QB1 in a quality matchup.

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (shoulder) isn't expected to do much in practice Thursday, Dec. 26. 'You know it'll probably be pretty similar to what he's done,' head coach Jason Garrett said Thursday. 'Was involved in the walk-through this morning and probably will be limited in practice if he does anything at all.'
Huddle Up: Prescott was limited all of last week before completing 25-of-44 passes for 265 yards and rushing once for seven yards in the 17-9 loss to the Eagles in Week 16. Unless things take a turn for a worse over the next few days, feel free to fire up Prescott as a QB1 starter Sunday in a must-win finale against Washington.

Dallas Cowboys WR Amari Cooper caught four of his 12 targets for 24 yards in a 17-9 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 16.
Huddle Up: After topping 100 yards against Philadelphia the first time around, Cooper seemed lost all afternoon. On the plus side, he has a good chance to close out the season on a high note against Washington.

Dallas Cowboys WR Randall Cobb caught five of his seven targets for 73 yards in a 17-9 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 16.
Huddle Up: Cobb showed some life after three straight lackluster outings. He's had his best season in several years, but he remains a risky flex play, at best, as the third or fourth target in the passing game.

Dallas Cowboys WR Michael Gallup caught five of his 11 targets for 98 yards in a 17-9 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 16.
Huddle Up: Although the Cowboys lost a crucial game, Gallup went over 1,000 yards for the year in what has been a breakout season. He's a WR3 candidate heading into the season finale against the Washington Redskins.

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott rushed 13 times for 47 yards and caught all seven of his targets for 37 yards in a 17-9 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 16.
Huddle Up: Elliott has shredded Philadelphia historically, but he never found a rhythm in this one. While the Cowboys await their playoff fate, Elliott should close the year on a high note against Washington. He ran 23 times for 111 yards and a score against the Redskins in Week 2.

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott failed to throw a touchdown in a 17-9 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 16, completing 25 of his 44 pass attempts for 265 yards and rushing once for seven yards.
Huddle Up: The loss means the Cowboys needs to win in Week 17 and hope Philadelphia loses in order to make the playoffs. From a fantasy perspective, Prescott should be in line for a solid showing against a Washington team he tossed three scores against back in Week 2.
